Alexander Kurenkov was born on June 2, 1972 in the Moscow region.

In 1998 he graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture.

In 2004, he fihished his education in Moscow Psychological and Social Institute.

On May 25, 2022, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, he was appointed Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.

In 2015, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kurenkov was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd class.
